Rich in malt, subtle in hops and arresting in peat. A wee bit off dry, this russet ale with the unmistakeable nose and nutty notes is felicitously balanced with a captivating peat smoked finish.

First glass of the cask
Muddy amber color with generous creamy head. Strong peat aroma, not as fat as the Bamberg beers, malty, woody, lightly fruity, light tar, smoked herring. Smooth mouthfeel; promised as off-dry instead it’s luckily medium sweet, with malt flavor and strong smoke presence, wood; relatively low bitterness. Moderate acidity level.
Fresh, easy to drink, very enjoyable.
