Every aspect of this IPA is amplified – from the upfront hop aroma and bitterness to the big malt body. Slipknot features a big Northwest hop aroma and robust bitterness balanced with a full malt body. Cascade, Crystal, Brewer’s Gold, and Cluster hops deliver pungent scents of citrus and pine. Extensive dry-hopping enhances this character with flavors to match. Northwest 2 Row Pale, Crystal and Rye malts add a rich spicy malt character. This full bodied IPA pours a rich golden-orange hue that glows like the late winter sun.

Hazy golden beer, with a thick, soapy lace - aroma of dry, crackery malts, herbal, minty character, earthy hops, kafir lime leaves - soft carbonation, full in the mouth - dry, biscuity malts pair well with potent, barky, quinine-ish bitterness - this bitterness lingers long into the finish - the malt profile seems more british than american, but I can’t really complain - this is a fairly solid ipa - you’ve gotta like your ipas on the dryer side, though

Courtesy of THE douglas88, thanks again. The pour is clear copper with orange hues and micro thin off white head. The modest aroma has rich malt sweetness, pine hops, earthiness, floral hops and grapefruit hops. Overall the aroma is a bit timid in strength but does manage to deliver a nice array of aromatics. The taste is full and rich with solid grapefruit, pine, earthy, spicy and floral hops. Most hop variety notes seem to be accounted for here. I get a nice load of malt sweetness holding up the hops and allowing the whole thing to ride into the finish with a thin slick layer of lingering malt sweetness as well as fading hop bitterness.

2009 bottle. pours with a bone colored head over a clear copper or bronze body. Aroma is dank, fruity, and orange hops with a slightly herbal and caramel back note. Taste is cleanly hop bitterness with light esters, caramel and herbal/pine C-hop notes.. Medium carbonation with a dryish mouthfeel.

courtesy of fishingnet. Pours copper, thin white head. Aroma fresh hops. Taste, hoppy, with a tingly spicy-bitter mouthfeel. Drinkable, not something that stands out.

22oz bottle Pours out a nice amber topped with a off white head. A great aroma of floral hops. Tast of more hops a very nice bitter end. I also picked up some sweetness on this one.

22oz bottle-pours a big foamy to rocky light tan head that laces and hazy/cloudy gold color. Aroma is caramel, medium malt, then resin hops with some citrus, alcohol. Taste is caramel, medium malt, then resin hops with some citrus, alcohol, and a fruity tartness. Medium body. An OK beer, disappointing for an I2PA. this rating is more than my usual on ‘style’ and less to ‘my taste’. Thanks Wasatch.

Bottle. Poured naartjie colour with lasting white head. Floral aroma with citrus and pine. Hoppy flavour with some maltiness, pine and aroma. Hop finish, doesn’t linger as long as many DIPAs.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Slightly hazy, amber golden with an off-white head. Fresh aroma with lots of fruit - peach in particular. Quite full-bodied with a solid, sweetish malt base, again these fruity peach accents and then a raw, bitter finish. I would’ve loved some more subtlety in the hopping. 250407

2007 Bottle: Pours a clear copper with a large, foamy white head. Nose is lots of citrus and piney hops, some maltiness. Taste is bitter with florals and piney hops, a bit of citrus and caramel malt is there to sweeten in the tail. Not a bad IPA, but on the milder side of I2PA’s.
