Every aspect of this IPA is amplified – from the upfront hop aroma and bitterness to the big malt body. Slipknot features a big Northwest hop aroma and robust bitterness balanced with a full malt body. Cascade, Crystal, Brewer’s Gold, and Cluster hops deliver pungent scents of citrus and pine. Extensive dry-hopping enhances this character with flavors to match. Northwest 2 Row Pale, Crystal and Rye malts add a rich spicy malt character. This full bodied IPA pours a rich golden-orange hue that glows like the late winter sun.

Bottled. A hazy orange beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with strong grassy notes, but also a light spicy note. The flavor is sweet matly with strong notes of hops, amongst other giving it notes of grapefruit, leading to a dry and very bitter end. Nice.

Draught Very clear copper; no head. Grapey, dry hoparoma’s, some slight milky/lactic hints. Bitter starting, but malt-mellowing taste. Sweeter maltbacking doesn’t prevent it from appearing a lot watery, however. As indicated, a bit thinnish with pretty little body. Hop oils and ditto slickness, running into the aftertaste, of course. If this is an Imperial, the empire is running out.

Bottle. Rich copper amber with an off-white head. Big pine resin aroma with caramel backing. Pine resin flavor with some grapefruit and caramel. Lighter body than expected. Nice flavor, but would be better if bitterness lingered a little longer.

Bottle Pours a clear light amber. Massive white foamy creamy head. Modest piney sweet hops aroma. Expected a more robust punch in this dept. Flavor has more of that bite i was loking for. Sweet light maltiness and fairly soft carbonation. Lots a sharp bittter aftertaste. Like that white stuff under the grapefruit skin.

Golden-amber colour. Minimal aroma, but a little pineyness. The flavour is woody, the body chewy. For the style, it’s a on the lighter side, which I prefer, but flavour development suffers as well.
