A dark, full flavored English porter with Scottish heather honey. Samuel Adams® Honey Porter is a full-flavored, full-bodied English porter with a substantial roasted malt character, offering a smooth, rounded finish. This beer is brewed with traditional English Ale hops and is dry-hopped with East Kent Goldings, known for their spicy aroma and distinctive, earthy flavor. We brew Honey Porter with Scottish heather honey which balances the spiciness of the hops.

This brew is the perfect complement to glazed ham, spicy chili, and roasted vegetables like beets and carrots, which bring out the herbal notes found in the hops and the sweetness of the honey. Samuel Adams® Honey Porter also pairs well with rich desserts such as baklava and molasses cookies.

Bottled (BB 08/2009). Deep ruby color, small beige head. Dark fruit, date, rye in the nose. Roasted malty, pipe smoke flavor with unbalanced sweetness. Toasted, slightly cardboardish with some papery hops. Quite unbalanced .. not maybe the most freshiest bottle.

Flaske 0,355l. Ekstremt mørkerødt på farge: Nesten svart. Flott luftig skum med litt brunfarge. Aroma av sjokolade. Forsiktig avrundet smak med islett av sjokolade og honning. Svakt tørr bitter avslutning. Litt kjedelig men OK. Fikk ingen porter-følelse av denne: Mer en trad. ale / old ale. KI=5

Bottle: Poured a dark brown with a reddish hint, the head is beige. Aroma is roasted malt along with a sweet honey hint. Taste is coffee and roasted malt. I expected a bit more of that honey bitterness, but it wasn’t there as in other honey porters.

Bottle. Even though this is a honey porter, its honey sweetness overpowers most other tasty qualities you would find in a porter. Like hops, for instance. The pour is dark brown with a short, tan head. The aroma is full of honey and sweet licorice. Hints of roasted malts with a touch of grain and chocolate. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and ever-so-lightly bitter. The finish remains moderately sweet. Medium body with a watery texture that turns a bit sticky in the finish. Lively carbonation. Almost cloying.
