A dark, full flavored English porter with Scottish heather honey. Samuel Adams® Honey Porter is a full-flavored, full-bodied English porter with a substantial roasted malt character, offering a smooth, rounded finish. This beer is brewed with traditional English Ale hops and is dry-hopped with East Kent Goldings, known for their spicy aroma and distinctive, earthy flavor. Bottle. Body is a dark brown that doesn’t let a whole lot of light through an head is a lovely and large foamy affair. Very nice look to it. Aromas are sweet and roasted. Not a whole lot of individual scents coming through, just a collage of roasted malt and sweetness. Taste is interesting... there’s very little of the chocolate flavoring that I would have guessed. Instead, there is a licorice/anise flavor that is central and then some minor tones that play off of that. While this is true, the alcohol isn’t detectable (thinking of some of the heavy impy stouts with a strong anise flavor) and there is a considerable ammount of earth and sweetness... while still remaining true to the dark and roasted malt. I’ll give it points for interest and originality.

Rich chocolately colour with thick head. A strong musty honey aroma. Full roasted malty flavour that strikes a great balance of bitter and sweet because of the honey. Slightly oily, smooth texture and finish.

Dark black body with ruby highlights and a small creamy off-white head. Sweet honey aroma with some light roast and chocolate, slight hints of cherrios. Strong honey flavor fading into light chocolate and hints of roast. Honey is clearly the dominant flavor here. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a syrupy honey finish.

.355L bottle. Dark brown but not unpenatratable colour, small creamy head. Aroma of barnyard, wax and some hoppy floral notes. Honey strong in the mouth with a pleasant but not to strong bitterness, lingerning to a short but pleasant sour aftertaste. Quite good.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown with large head and excellent lacing. Honey dominates the aroma. Also strong in the taste, as are the hops. Not bad, but the finish is a bit offputting. Perhaps a little less honey would be appropriate here.

Not notable. Honey and malts in the subtle aroma. Appearance is a small, creamy, light brown head over a brown body. The tastee is very strong of commercial honey and biterness from the malts. Fizzy and watery is all I can say for the mouthfeel. A bit astringent in the finish.

Pours dark dark amber with frothy mocha head and decent lacing. The aroma is on the timid side with roasted malts, hints of chocolate malts and faint spice. The taste is sweet to start off with the label stated honey chiming in and also a mild malt astringency that hits with a wave of carbonation. Near midway mild hoppy spice, herbal spice, roasty malts, creamy caramel, an earthiness and a hint of burnt malts all sort of come to together at once. It ends with mild sweet honey, sweet roasty malts and chocolate.

Bottle. Black color, almost totally opaque, with a bubbly, medium, stable, light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, notes of chocolate and hints of honey. Flavor is quite dry but some (maybe a bit subdued) sweetness is in there as well, with roasted malt and some honey. A quite bitter finish with roastiness and a bit of hops. Medium-bodied. Aroma is nice, flavor a little less, but still decent.

Dark caramel like...deep rich brown with a rich tan head....sweet malty aroma, with a touch of honey....Palate:::::rich molasses and honey intertwined...a slight hoppiness on the finish, well balanced....a bit of baking chocolate after the hops on the finish....a nice silky body
