A dark, full flavored English porter with Scottish heather honey. Samuel Adams® Honey Porter is a full-flavored, full-bodied English porter with a substantial roasted malt character, offering a smooth, rounded finish. This beer is brewed with traditional English Ale hops and is dry-hopped with East Kent Goldings, known for their spicy aroma and distinctive, earthy flavor. We brew Honey Porter with Scottish heather honey which balances the spiciness of the hops.

Aroma of chocolate, dark coffee, and honey? Maybe. Opaque brown/black color with a beige head that laced a bit. A bit thin in body. Creamy carbonation. Arguably honey, something coffee, and light chocolate. Definitely toasted malt. Not fully smooth. A little bitter in the finish, but that could be the burnt malt. Not quite dry, but not what one could call sweet. A tad astringent. Pretty good.

bottle - Pours very dark brown with a two finger, lingering head. It has a light roast malt aroma with a little honey. The sweetness of the honey comes through fairly well in the flavor, but there’s not quite enough porter character here. It’s too thin. While pretty good for a session brew, I was hoping for a little more.

Bottle. Dark caramel color. Roasted aroma, with a touch of sweetness. Flavor was alright, but it just was not as smooth as I probably would have liked in a a porter.

Dark with a light tan, frothy head. Light aroma of sweet malt, honey, roast, chocolate, and nuts. Malt, coffee, honey, dry sweetness, and chocolate are in the flavor. Medium body with nice carbonation. Pretty decent, nothing to exciting here though.

12oz Bottle Pours out dark brow almost black topped with a off white head. Sweet aroma and tast. Wow much better than I was thinking it was going to be. thanks Jake65

Bottle: Mahoghany pour with a medium beige head. Nose is very sweet; honey and malts. The taste is sweet and syruplike, honey, caramel, and brown sugar. Lingering sweet trailer. Did I mention that this one is sweet? Certainly not bad, but not really a porter.

Bottle pores a cleae dsrk brown. Full tan head. Light roast and honey and caramel in the aroma. Flavoe is similar. Tje honey co.es throwgh more than I expected. Fairly thin palate.

bottle out of brewmaster pack. poured very dark brown color with a medium tan head. aroma of caramel and chocolate. tasted very malty with and loses the honey taste as it gets warmer.

Caramel-beige head quickly fizzles to partial cover, leaving no lacing. Clear, cola-mahogany body is lightly beige-tinted.
DMS is wildly rampant in the nose. It creates a rancid vegetal smell that is sharp, almost sour and is joined by spicy phenols that probably arise from the honey fermentation. Tacky, rather insipid sweetness shows light buttertoffee and caramel, but is cut by cheap, cola-like notes and fades very quickly. An almost waxiness or cardboard-like note sits on the end, in place of the "malt" and joined by the DMS. Just dosent have a wholesome smell to it. Dosent smell like a beer should. Rather contrived and wholly lacking of any real substance or life.
DMS is strong in the flavor, as well. Lots of bean-like flavors sit fairly strongly in the background, while a ridiculously fizzy, sharp carbonation creates a soda-pop-like texture. Cheap honey and toffee sweetness has no real malt feel to it, just light and sugary. Unbelievably filtered, washed out texture with even preliminary oxidation (strong bready/cardboardy dryness). Dumped it out after two sips I think. One of the worst beers I’ve had in quite some time. Bravo Sam Adams!

Bottle from my son-in-law, Thanks Colin; Nose of sweet honey, vanilla, and roasty cocoa; transparent cherry brown with a medium beige head; flavor has sweetness, caramel, chocolate, with some hops showing lightly in the finish. Decent porter!
