Created for a non real-ale drinking landlady we tweaked our Stout, adding yet more chocolate malt and Curacao orange peel to the boil. We add lots of vanilla pods during fermentation and yet more orange is added into each cask, followed by a long slow maturation. A traditional with a twist!

Cask at GBBF 2009. Black, lasting tan head. Slightly artificial choc/orange flavour, just on the right side of being acceptable. Decent grainy orange finish though.

(Cask at GBBF, London Earlโ€™s Court, 6 Aug 2009) Dark brown colour, almost black. Frothy, pale brown head. Malty, fruity and roasted nose with notes of dark fruit, liquorice and chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, liquorice, vanilla, a touch of soy sauce and orange. Medium body, rather sweet. Nice and tasty with an interesting orange twist.

Cask@GBBF2009. Close to pitch black colour (very deep brown), mediumsized beige head. Aroma is chocolate, cookies, zest and some roast. Flavour is quite the same. Quite a bit of orange in it as well.
