In celebration of National Hispanic American Month, this unfiltered wheat beer is brewed with pilsner malt, wheat malt and a touch of salt, open fermented with Lactobacillus to create a beer offering with refreshing crispness and tartness. For fun, post fermentation we blended in opuntia, a fruit from the cactus commonly called Prickly Pear.

Prickly pear and lots of bread yeast. Golden hazy pour without head. Tart finish. Fruit is light here--this is actually a gose, not a smoothie sour. Some salt. Tap at Shaw brewpub.
