Die Mischung macht´s: Drei verschiedene Malze und zwei Hopfensorten aus der Region kommen zum Einsatz. Spezielle, länger „gedarrte“ Malze sorgen für die rote, dunkle Farbe. Beim Darren wird das Malz nach dem Keimprozess bei hohen Temperaturen getrocknet. Je höher die Temperatur, desto dunkler wird das Malz. Schanzenbräu Rotbier ist untergärig, unfiltriert, vollmundig und gut gehopft.

Red with a creamy, off-white head. Caramel aroma. Berry jam. Taste is mildly sweet the whole way through. Medium-bodied, moderate to mild carbonation. Simple. Decent.

Dunkles Kupfer im Glas. In der Nase Malz, im Trunk Karamell, angenehme Süße, malzig, aber auch nicht sonderlich komplex. Ziemlich direkt, viel Malz. Okay.

50 cl bottle @ Bamberg. Pours slight unclear copper golden with a small stable head and lacings. Sweet malty. Bread, corn and caramel. Grainy and dry. Medium bodied.

Bottle at Wanderer, Nurnberg. Red with medium white head. Malty, caramel, bready, moderate lasting bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. Somewhat thin finish.

Õlle on selline jook, et iga uus kord kui klaasi või pudeli suule tõstad, siis leiad midagi uut, sõltuvalt tuhandest-miljonist pisiasjast, mis hetke olukorda mõjutavad. Seega piirdun iga õlle juures selle tekstiga.

Bottle from a Yorma's in Nürnberg. Dark amber body, tan head. Sweetish malty dark bready aroma. Simple dark bread malty taste with a tart undertone. Drinkable.

Clear amber colour with a large white frothy head. Nose: grains, caramel malts, vegetal hop, fruity notes. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Taste: special malts, dried fruit, spicy and vegetal hop. Light plus bitterness. Decent lager.
