On gravity at Reading BF 5/5/07. Mahogany coloured with decent, off white head. Aroma of dark chocolate with roasted coffee. Packed full of flavours: dark fruits, more chocolate and a whiff of smoke. Finish was dry and pretty long. As others have pointed out, this offers a great deal for a 4% beer.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm) Dark reddish brown colour with ruby notes, creamy beige head. Malty nose with caramel, fudge, chocolate, dark berries (cherries, blackberries) and a hint of tobacco. Malty taste with chocolate, fudge, caramel and blackberries. Rather sweet but with roasted, bitter notes of coffee in the finish. A bit thin, but quite tasty.

250ml draught at the Rake (Borough Market 16.09.2006). Rusty brown. No head. Smell of coffee. Roasted malty flavour with dark chocolate and a bitter finish. Quite well done brew!
