Beer Works 9 Alarm Amber Lager

The appearance was a light brown color with a bar pour’s kind of slim off white semi-foamy head that dissipated at a moderate pace. Trim lace.
The aroma had some caramel/toffee malts, light nuts, some bready/yeastiness.
The flavor moderately leaned towards the sweet side through the prior mentioned aromas. Bready sweet aftertaste with the same sort of finish.
The palate was somewhat close to medium bodied, perhaps a tad under with a decent sessionability about it. Decent carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, decent easy drinking amber lager worthy of having again preferably with food.

Sample from tap at the brewpub in Canal street. Pours red with a light brown/off-white head. Toffee caramel malty aroma. Flavour is malty, slight yeasty, minor metallic note. Good hoppiness blending in with the toffee malt.

Sample at Beer Works Fenway: Pours a clear light amber color with a thin light khaki head that dissipates rapidly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of crystal malts and a bit of hops. Light body with a sweet malt flavor offset by hops. The finish is creamy and sweet with not much aftertaste. Overall I am firmly in the "Where’s the fire?" column.
