Herr Nilsens belgiske tripel var vinnerølet i NM i hjemmebrygging 2024. Ølet ble brygget av ekteparet Hans Christian Nilsen og Hilde Rostad. Dette er en tørr, kompleks og fruktig tripel med et elegant samspill av den belgiske gjæren og den balanserte malten.

I bought a 33 cl can at Vinmonopolet Bergen last month and am ready for a sampling. Using a tulip glass this late afternoon I flip the tab and pour. It shows a semi-hazy bright gold body topped by a sparse cover of thoroughly white foam. A pleasant nose, I determine peach, grain, straw, malt and meadow. The drink follows that course. More towards apricot if I am picking a yellow fruit, a firm malt backbone, dough, paper and a spot of spiciness. More sweetness than bitterness but there are both. A moderate density, I like that in a tripel. This is a decent representation of the style which is one of my favorites.

Can 33 cl. Pours deep golden with a slight haze and a smallish, white head. Massive bubblegum aroma. Rich, fruity body. Yeasty and phenollic again with plenty of bubblegum. Boozy finish with a solid bitterness. 151225

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Sandnes Kvadrat. ABV is 9.5%. Golden colour, moderate white head.Sweetish / sugary aroma, notes of Belgian ale yeast and orange peel. The flavour is distinctly fruity, spicy and yeasty, notes of orange zest, coriander seeds, cardamom and cloves. Very drinkable.

Unclear golden body under a white head. Aroma has malt, oranges and spicy belgium yeast. Taste is sweet smooth soft malt, oranges, belgium yeast and hint of alcohol. Fine body and pleasant aftertaste. Like a combination of a fruity saison and a belgium triple. Not too sweet and refreshing fruity with a spicy touch. Highly enjoyable.

Lys brunoransje lett tåkete med flyktig hvitt skum. Lukter belgisk gjær, brød og sultan rosiner. Fyldig. Smaker belgisk gjær, rosiner, alkohol og brød. Lang.

Jeg avslutter min ekspedisjon for denne gangen med en tur til Drammen og Skur 4. Det ble et ble et særdeles hyggelig besøk takket være deres imøtekommende og kunnskapsrike bartender! Lett uklar gylden med ok skum. Nydelig krydderaroma og ditto smak. Sommerhonning, appelsinmarmelade, barskog og kryddertoner fra gjæren. Fyldig og slank på samme tid, dvs. farlig lettdrikkelig. Appelsin og krydder i avslutningen.

Can. Almost clear, golden in color, small white head. Alcohol, banana, pale malts, herbal hints and some orange zest in the aroma. Full to medium body, soft carbonation, semi-sweet. Orange zest, alcohol, banana, spices, black pepper, herbal hints and pale malts in the flavor. Long finish. A quite dull one and a bit messy I think. A bit fresh perhaps, as I found it better now than some weeks ago. 250418
