This series focuses exclusively on the unique and diverse characteristics in which different species of wood can impart.
Our Double Barrel Finished series began with our Horchata recipe racked into Willett Family Estate 9 yr Bourbon Barrels in 2023. At maturity, each barrel was transferred to fresh Willett 4 yr Bourbon Barrels for their double barrel aging. These second barrels then saw the addition of the individual woods : Aspen, Maple, Mizunara and French Oak. We bottled each “Finish” separately, so we can explore and discuss how the new flavors created by the woods impacted the double barrel aged stouts we have continuously worked on over the last decade.

Bottle at "Johnny's got a new place" beer celebration. Opaque black color, no head. Aroma and flavor are malts, roasty, some soy sauce, liquorice, chocolate, bourbon, bitter. Nice bit worth the money? No.
