The Captain is leader of a fire crew. This beer takes charge of your taste buds with its rich flavor. Roasty malt character that has hints of chocolate and coffee which balances the smooth, velvety finish. The thick, creamy head lasts and lasts, leaving lace in your glass as your beer disappears. This beer pairs well with food. Great with dinner or as breakfast or even with a rich vanilla-bean ice cream.

Small shaker showing a black center, coffee rims, and spare latte colored foam. The nose shows a lot of roasted malt darkness. the palate is very light bodied with a lot of chocolate immediately noticeable and a roasted malty bitterness on the finish. A bit too light for a stout but still pretty good.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a black color with a small creamy beige head that faded and left great lacing. The aroma was roasty, bitter, woody and a bit of floral hops. The flavor was bitter, roasty, coffee and wood. Long finish. Medium body. Meh.
