Black Orchard

Bottle. Pours a dark brown almsot black color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty spicy aroma. Slightly sweetish roasted malty spicy caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty finish with some roeasted hints in the aftertaste.

bottle, pours a very lively dark brown with a tall and I mean TALL light tan head. Wonderful nose of carmel malt and citrus. Flavor is rich burnt carmel, bready malts, and a light clove/corriander finish. Really not picking up much wit beer in this, but it’s still rather good. Very high carbonation, thin crisp mouthfeel.

Bottle. Porteresque aroma and taste. Malty, cereal, syrup and some chocolate in aftertaste. Way too carbonated wich contributes too the strange acidy quality.

Bottle. Pours black-brown with a big, shortlasting brown head. Aroma of licorice and a hint of smoke. A bit acidic and vinous. To sharp carbonation and thin bodied. More interesting than good.

Aroma: The nose has roasted characteristics, some chocolate and floral notes, and some wheat as well
Appearance: Pours a reddish-brown color with a huge fluffy tan head that dissipates quickly
Flavor: Taste is quite wheat-like, with some spice and smoke notes as well, medium-sweet malty flavor
Palate: It is fairly light (certainly lighter then I was expecting), with an alright, somewhat tingy mouthfeel
Overall Impression: It isn't particularly exciting. I also noticed that the nose fades rather quickly (I probably would have gone 7 originally, but was hard pressed to go over 5 by the end - so I compromised on 6). The rest of the beer kind of felt the same way. It's an alright brew, but it does very little to blow me away, and doesn't really evolve at all as it warms. That pretty much covers this one.

(Draught) Poured black with medium sized white head. Aroma had blueberry and general berriness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Berries, malts, fruitiness, lightly roastedness, bitterness and hops could be found from the taste. Malts, hops and bitterness remained in aftertaste.

Bottle @ HJ Hansen, Odense. Pours dark brown with a small creamy head and lacings. Nose and taste is mildly roasted. Some chocolate and caramel. Spicy roasted flavor with hoppy notes in the end. Full bodied. Tasty

Very dark brown with a small off-white head. The aroma is roasted with lots of chocolate and licorice and a little spicy touch. Sweetish chocolate flavour, medium bitterness and a little citrus in the finish.

A nice witbier but I’m not sure what character comes from the dark malts. Touches of phenol and wheat in the nose, and some distinct coriander. Vague fruitiness in the flavor. Pretty refreshing on the whole.

75 cl bottle. Black with a thin, fine, off-white head. Dry chocolate aroma with funky yeast and dark fruits. Vegetal and chocolate flavors, with dark malts, light fruit, and a bit tart. Belgian style yeast character is a bit too strange.
