CBF09. From tap. Pours a hazy yellow colour with a huge chalk white head. Wheaty and spiced aroma, slightly perfumed accent. Dry phenolic and wheaty flavoured, very spiced and rather dry into the finish. Lasting dry and spiced impression.

Admittedly, I can’t tell you much about this other than my senses from drinking it. I was at Brooklyn Brewery on 5/9/09 and this was on the board in the tasting room. The bartender couldn’t tell me anything beyond repeating the name. I listed the beer as a Belgian Strong Ale, but frankly, that’s an educated guess. Technically, it could be something different. Here goes the rating: Transparent copper-gold with a frothy, white head. Aroma of Belgian candy sugar, yeast, spices, some sticky fruits. Flavors are very similar. Strong candy sugar flavor, reminded me almost of a dubbel, spices, yeast, some tropical fruits. Very heavy on the palate, fizzy in the mouth, almost sticky. Very strong but also unique.
