Tap at BKL16. Black color with tan head. Aroma is some grapes, dark malts. Taste is grapes, sweet alcohol, Gletschereis (that was the vocabulary I was looking for, thanks jfb!), dark malts, ticklish carbonation. Quite heavy and thick, but the Aquavit barrel works, I think. Unique aftertaste. Good!

On tap at Tilt, Oslo. Slightly dark, black looking mahogany coloured with a nice, beige head. Roasty aroma with nice mixture of dark malt and cummin. Takes some time to get, fairly complex stuff but also delicious. Dark chocolate, hints of dark fruits coffee and fairly noticeable aquavit notes. Surprisingly smooth, not to sweet, but alcohol is noticeable enough. Anyway a delicious brew!

Bottle. A black one topped by a small dark beige head. Sort of boozy aroma with licorice, roasted malts, some dark chocolate and a touch of vanilla. It’s full bodied, warming, smooth and sweet, with licorice, roasted malts, something burnt and some brown sugar. Nice bitterness too. Lasting finish with booze and lots of dark flavors. Lovely indeed. 160128
