A popular, old-fashioned British brew that unfortunately has become a rarity these days, Brown Porter owes its dark hue and name to the use of brown malts, which lend color but also distinctive, delicate notes of coffee and cocoa. Thanks also to its low alcohol content, it’s surprisingly easy to drink for a dark beer.

Dark brown with an off white head - Roasted malt aroma with some coffee notes - Roasted malt body with bitterness and some hints of coffee - The malt goes into a thin finish with some bitterness - This was ok, a little bit on the thin side

Bottled 330ml (KSM Kampus)
Dark brown colour, mostly vanishing head. Tart, milky, toasted, some candi sugar. Light-bodied. Chocolate, soya sauce, milkyness, light tartness. Some hops in the aftertaste. Too restless for my liking.

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark brown/close to black, with minimum irregular foam, light brown. Aroma is delicate toasted. Body is light worth moderate carbonation. Taste is low in sweetness and bitterness, with the roasted feeling dominating. Foam is short and clean.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, nuttily, dark malty aroma, notes of liquorice, Brazil nut, well-nigh burnt caramel. Taste is nuttily, roasty dark malty, notes of liquorice, Brazil nut, hints of cocoa, coffee, a touch of treacle and caramel, bitter hoppy overtones. Very rich for 3.8% only.
