Deep brown-foxy beer with yellow head. Chocolate, and chocolate, and chocolate with nuts, and milkchocolate, and - OK, you get the idea. Sweet-nutty, if not too sweet, ending in chocolate. Medium bodied, syrupy. Oh well, good try - but it WAS excellent with the porc!

12 oz bottle...Dark brown with amber highlights, light brown head...mild hops on the sniff...caramel malts, sweet sniffs...flavor mild citrus (hops present)...some malts, some of this some of that, but not all that....finish on the verge of grapefruit to metal....wish I was impressed more, but with green flash , I feel they should stick to IPA’s

12oz bottle-pours a foamy thin retaining tan head and amber color. Aroma is dark/medium malt-dark fruit. Taste is sweet dark/medium malt-toffee, dark fruit, secondary hops bite. OK carbonation. Thanks jwc215 for sharing.

Pour is darkish red brown. On tap at the Bocktown in Robinson shopping complex. Clear with no haze whatsoever. Aroma is surprisingly vinegary but pleasant. Nice head fades to about a coating in a few moments. Flavor and aroma are very unique. Roasty malt earthly but not bitter. Very gentle. Finish is good too. There is some hops flavor in there but it is not bitter, more unique than anything. No linger on the flavor also. Seems to have the right amount of personality. Rates up there with troegs rugged, wild goose and bells. Much better than dogfishhead indian. Overall, just plain good beer. Smells different and tastes different. This is not the same old beer.

Pour is a cola brown with a samll tan head. Aroma is hard to come by and not much stands out. Flavor is a bit better. A sweet malty bitterness with a touch of molasses. Decent for a brown.

Mahogany colored with a small beige head. Maltly-caramel aroma with plum and coffee notes. Flavor shows strong malts and caramel with hints of coffee and molasses. Bottle from the Bevmo in San Jose.

I have not been impressed at all with this brewer. sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium brown color with red highlights and a very large tan head. The aroma is sweet and malty and rather pleasant. The flavor is strong with roasted malts though a bit dry and has a light tang underneath. The finish has a hint of bakers chocolate. Not a great beer but not too bad for the style - though I am not much of a fan of brown ales. Acceptable.
