Our extraordinary Imperial Stout is black as midnight with a rich, palate-warming mouth feel. It offers an alluring aroma of dark roasted malts and blackstrap molasses with a hint of smoke. The flavor features notes of coffee, bittersweet cocoa, black licorice and hint of prune. A generous addition of hops contributes complexity and balance plus a pleasantly astringent finish. With proper aging, our Imperial Stout matures for up to fours years. Winner of a prestigious Gold Medal for Bottle Condition Ale at 2002 Real Ale Festival.

Low bodied for an imperial. Black as you’d expect. Taste is pleasant, but lacking. Rated 4/16/10

Pours mahogany-tinged black into a snifter. Mocha head quickly pancakes to mottle surface. Sour pit fruit and chocolate aromas. Full with upfront dark dried pit fruit turning hot in the lasting charred chocolate finish.

Bottle, thanks to keepersj12. Shared with Slothez. Jet black pour with a healthy sized creamy head. Toasted, yes and some, roasted aroma with some fudge notes. Flavour was sweetish and had a slightly predictable coffee thing going on but seemed well balanced. My first beer from michigan. Pree-teeee-y tasty but not as outstanding as I hoped. Nice lookin label though....

Weak charcoal and currant aroma. Black, headless pour. Relatively strong dark chocolate and molasses flavor. Smoky charcoal finish. Flavorful and drinkable.. Rather simple for an imp stout, but delicious.

Bottle - thanks mcox90. Near black pour with a finger of creamy brown head. Aroma is a dry and sweet chocolate with light roasty notes. Tastes lightly malty with faint roast, a little cocoa, a tiny bit of molasses, and dark fruits. Kind of muddled. Just didn’t jive with this...

12oz bottle. Thick black with a tan head that quickly fades out, leaving behind some soapy patches. Sweet, sharp chocolate aroma lets you know there is some strength. The taste is dry and roasty, with some interesting bitter cocoa nuances. Oily mouthfeel with some pleasant warming, really comes off a little stronger than it is. Warm bitter aftertaste. Fairly unique, but a little too hot and syrupy to really rival the World Class stuff.
