Re-rate from tap @ Bruadar in Glasgow. Slightly better marks for palate and nose this time though not getting to German standards. Previous rating - 23/08/2011 5+3+6+3+12=2.9 Draught @ Bert’s Bar. Pours a cloudy golden with not much head. The nose has a light lemon tang. The taste has tangy banana and pineapple. The palate is actually thin bodied and textured and very clean. This is ok, but it doesn’t have much of what I love about Hefeweisen. The appearance is underwhelming when Hefe is usually one of the most excellent appearances that can be found in beer and the nose is very light and there’s no creamy rich body. Will have to re-taste again in case it wa a bad pint of it but not excited about it this time.

Keg, Abbotsford, Edinburgh. Cloudy tan. The aroma is sweetish, with banana notes. Candy banana in the front, getting fizzier and just slightly drier as it goes. An ok hefeweizen, probably a bit too sweet for me.

Draught at the brewpub and at Blackfriars, Glasgow. Cloudy yellow. Evident banana aroma. with a twist of lemon. Medium sweet with a tad thin mouthfeel, but a very authentic yeast induced clove/banana flavour. Mustardy finish.
