Cask at the Lyric, Soho. It pours clear golden amber with a medium bubbly white head. The nose is floral, hay, light toast, spice, sandalwood and leather. The taste is sweet, floral, doughy, wood, light spice, light peppery bitterness and honey sweetness with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting and well rounded. Works nicely on cask.

Smak och doft av örter, gräs, honung, väldigt blommig till en början med vattnas snabbt ut. Saknar kropp och eftersmak. Smakar som blommig örtjuice.

(Cask at Gallows Bird, 20120908) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had flowers and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were flowers, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was flowey and bitter. Too much flowers.

Cask at GBBF 2010. An amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of spicy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of spices and chewy malt, leading to a lightly bitter finish.

Tap @ the Caley Sample Room. Pours amber, a little cloudy with some head. The nose is of honey and malt. The taste has initial honey but this opens out into apple, then toffee-apple, some grapes and then maybe some spice -perhaps cinnamon, nutmeg or ginger. The palate has a big structure, a gorgeous creamy texture and a lovely clean green apple finish. Overall, I could drink this ad infinitum. For a commonly found beer, this is so good.

@ Theatre Royal. Golden, bright. Strong heather and herbal aroma. Sweet, but muted character. Vaguely herbal. Too much sparkler, but this just doesn’t have the big malt of the bottled Fraoch.

Cask-conditioned at the Southampton Arms, London 25/03/10. Slightly hazy gold in colour with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet fruit, green herbs and spice. Sweetish malt flavours, with some apricot, more herbs and citrus hops, leading to a dry finish. Good.
