500 ml bottle, thanks to my beerpal Olav who brought it home from the Orkneys. ABV is 4.5%. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate white head, decent lacing. Moderate but nice aroma with fruity and malty notes, hints of nuts and toffee. Moderately malty and nutty flavour with "dusty" English hops throughout. Okay, but not remarkable.

Light brown with a frothy white head that soon turns wispy. Aroma of caramel and roasted grains. Taste is mildly bitter most of the way through. A mild, fruity tartness rounds out the finish. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Pleasant.

Half, cask at Cloisters. Clear, dark amber coloured body. Tiny, white layer. Spotty lacing to the upper level of the glass. Honeyed sweet citrus nose. Fine blended taste character of fruity hops and caramel malts followed by a bittersweet taste. Medium bodied. Satisfying version of the style (Edinburgh 07.08.2013).
