Cask days 2014.
Man i really wanted to like this one......
Upfront super sour, and tart. There are cranberries in there, i can pick them out amongst some random berry flavours, the body is quite flat, and the carb is zero. The finish is where it goes off the rails. The finish turns to straigh up vinegar, there were hints of it in the aroma, but i wrote it off to the cranberries. Its gets super lactic and borders on red wine or malt vinegar, wo, the end was rough!

(On tap at barVolo, Sept 30 2014) Pours a hazy copper-orange with a tiny white head lingering as a ring, and no lace. Aroma quite sour, overripe peach, Brett musty funk, quite oaky character. Palate is quite sour, vinegar, musty, oak, some vague pit fruit notes, bit of lemon, sweet pale malt core. Finish has grain, wood, buttery popcorn hints at too much diacetyl. Mouthfeel fairly light, slick and slightly watery, no real carb to speak of. I get what they’re trying to do here but perhaps need a bit more practice with sour beers, it’s not quite flavorful enough and that buttery character should be eliminated. Ends up being a bit of a bracingly sour mess and tough to drink. I really wanted to like this, so it’s a shame.
