Tap at Islenski Barinn. Clear amber with beige head. Caramel, bread, some light christmas spices, a bit of cardboard. Thin and forgetable.

On tap at Barion, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of Christmas spices, sweet toasted caramel, and bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with sweet caramel, anonymous Christmas spices, and bready malt, with a slight tang on the finish. Thin palate, with little depth, just lots of spice and sweet malt. Not great.

Happy American thanksgiving! No pumpkin beer in Iceland. But they’ve got Jola Bjor (Xmas beer)!

Bottle at Bistro Atlantic (inside Keflavík International Airport), 5% ABV
Light amber color, small head. Light malt aroma and flavor, ordinary bitterness, some caramel.
Not a Christmas beer (which is anyway positive), just a simple beer.

Light orange amber colour, white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, light toast, slight soy sauce. Quite sweet flavour, somewhat bitter hops. Malty finish, toast and hops.
Better than I expected actually.

Can (BB 11/2008)
Clear amber color, small white head. Grainy, a bit grassy and caramelly nose. A bit caramelly, harsh malty flavor. Quite typical Scandinavian Vienna/Dark lager -style Christmas beer and not the worst of kind.
