From Kalamazoo With Love | BOURBON BARREL-AGED STOUT | 15% (500mL bottle)
This double mash stout was aged for 1 year in a Heaven Hill bourbon barrel. Brewed to represent the city of Kalamazoo, we designed a brand new stout recipe to express a blend of dark roasted malts while maintaining a smooth finish and balanced texture. In sampling, we got huge dark chocolate and espresso from this particular Heaven Hill barrel.

Bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a deep brown to black without much head the speak of. Lovely bourbon focused aromas on the nose with toasted vanilla, treacle, dark and milk chocolate and coffee and cream. Bourbon and oak come out as it warms, with nice vanilla and bourbon notes on the palate. Some marshmallow and more dark chocolate, oak and bourbon on the finish. Definitely sweet, but a fun BA Pastry stout. Nice stuff!
