Golden Pear was inspired by traditional Belgian brewing practices, using a Trappist yeast strain and German pilsner malt. Belgian candi sugar and pear juice combine to create a nicely layered ale that "pears" well with everything. This melange showcases aromas of fresh herbs, harvest apples, and honeyed malt. A golden orange body with a bone white head carries flavors of sweet zesty grain, earthy spice, and highlights of freshly picked pears.

$2.40 bottle, Wine Warehouse. Pours gold, slight hazy, small white head. Aroma is pear juice, yeast, grass. Flavor is yeast, copper, pear, green grass, more metal, dust, alcohol. Way too metallic tasting.

Pear and stewed apples nose. Cloudy amber, medium yellow head, nice lace. Babyfood pear and banana. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Very nice malt presence. Very neat.
