Chocolate malt and roasted barley provide the dark color and fully body of chocolate stout. Toasy accents and a hoppy dryness add to this smooth brew. An old time favorite you’ll remember.

Bottle. Great beer. Love the dark chocolate tast. A little too bitter in the end but still great. Smells of the traditional stout. Recommend it.

12 oz bottle, aged a bit in the fridge. Dark brown to black. Its good but not great. Thin malty backing to a mild bitter chocolate. Wish it was a bit more robost, falls short for me.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours crystal clear nearly opaque dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light smoke/char, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Nice aromas with good complexity and balance of dark/roasted/bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light smoke/char, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Fair amount of herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, light smoke/char, and roasted earthiness for a good bit. Good complexity and robustness of dark/roasted/bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a good roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly creamy, and lightly bready/chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a good American stout style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted/bready malt and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Bottle. A- Malty, roasty, dry, cocoa. A- Black color, black liquid, light brown head. T- Malty, roasty, bakers chocolate, dry. P- Medium body, thin texture, high carbonation, dry roasty finish. O- Really not that great of a beer. At first it smelled like blood, which I am not sure where that came from. After the head faded away, that odd aroma went out the door and dry roasty cocoa came in. The palate was about the same. Simply a boring stout, really.

Poured into shaker from bottle. Dark opaque brown with fair-sized tan head and some chocolate aroma. Not so much chocolate to the flavor, mainly just malt. Mildly bitter finish but not long - it’s too watery a beer to leave much of an aftertaste.
