Cask @ Bar Fringe, Manchester M4. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with some hints of coffee. Roasted malty chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate and coffee finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

Cask (handpump) @ The New Oxford, 11 Bexley Sq, Salford, Manchester, England M3 6DB.Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, coffee, chocolate notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090123]

On gravity at the Royal Oak, Bath, winter festival 21/02/09. Near black with a slight tan head. Bitter chocolate and vanilla aroma, with plenty of roasted malts. Relatively light mouth feel, with some dark fruit, more chocolate and roastiness and a slightly acetic finish. Did not stand up in comparison to the Bazensโ Knoll Street Porter which was tried at the same time, but still likeable.
