Complex mild perhaps not in the traditional sense but we like our beers hoppy! Ruby coloured, coffee, chocolate aroma with hints of dried fruits and sour cherry leads to a soft yet full roast flavour, fruit and malt vying with the rounded hoppy bittersweet finish. Not only for the mild fanatics but the bitter lovers too. Both will be left satisfied and wanting more.

Cask. Sweet soy and sweat aroma. Very dark brown colour. Almost no head. Sweet grassy hop aroma, also some soy. Thin mouthfeel. The colour led me to believe this was a malty beer, but it seems more focused on the hops.

Cask, C4 Odense: Amber brown with acreamy brown white head. Dry roasted flavor - caramel/toffee. Flat carbonation & thin body. Somehow very smooth though! An OK Mild ale!

On gravity at Reading BF 5/5/2007. Extremely dark, near black with no head. Aroma of summer berries with a touch of malt. Flavours of red fruit followed by hint of roast coffee. A bit if dryness in the finish. Not bad.

Very dark, garnet coloured body. Small white layer. Has not got much in neither aroma nor taste, besides a touch of dark fruits and a short bitter finish. Medium palate (Half on gravity at The St Albans Beer Festival, 28.09.2006).

Cask @ Volunteer Arms, GBBF 2006. Dark amber colour with an off-white head. Fruity malty aroma with some hoppy hints. Salty fruity and malty flavor. Has a long malty finish.

Cask. Dark ruby red colour, no head. Sweet fruits, malts and wooden hints in aroma. Flavour is hayish, wooden and weirdly sweet. It could do with more sourish hints... Still a pleasant beer, which has a smooth aftertaste of wood, hops and some fruits.

Merton Summer Beer Festival July 2005. A very dark mild, quite hoppy but with a nice flavour a little bit of fruit and quite dry.

[Cask at GBBF 2004] An opaque brown beer with a small tan head. The aroma is sweet and roasted, with some notes of coffee, while the flavor is sweet roasted with a bitter coffee finish. Great flavor.

Cask conditioned at the 32nd Cambridge Beer Festival, gravity dispense. One of the craziest beer names so far - chris_o told me itโs adopted from a Cream song (I guess I should have known that). Dark brown colour, low head, some natural carbonation. According to the CBF programme itโs "a little too hoppy to be a classic mild" - still it is not VERY hoppy, just the typical Southern English dusty hoppiness. Aroma and flavour are malty with some caramel (but not really sweet), some cola notes.
