Our third in our CHEAPBEER series, CH33PB33R is an unfiltered pilsner using American 2-Row malt, flaked wheat, and a hop product called Citra American Noble Type. After the lupulin extraction process for making Lupulin Powder, the hop processors are left with the plant leaves which still contain a low level of flavor and character and have the same bittering potential of European noble type hops. We treated the free sample of this hop product like a hop that we would use for a pilsner and we got out of it classic spice and sweetness but with a bright overtone of starfruit, lemon and passionfruit. Set that against a super clean malt character, 4.3% ABV, and refreshingly dry body and you have the ultimate summer crusher.
