Cask (handpump) @ Wellington, 37 Bennetts Hill, Birmingham, West Midlands England B2 5SN.Clear dark red brown color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, coffee notes, meat, smoke notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily and soft, carbonation is flat. [20090120]

Cask conditioned at The Wellington, Birmingham 21/01/09. Deep brown in colour with a lacy, off-white head. Sweet fruit and spicy aroma, with cinnamon and cloves. Flavour was much of the same, with the spice well balanced by the bitter finish. Probably my last Xmas 2008 beer, and not a bad one.
