Laitilan Kukko Lager is an international-class, pale, lager-type, full-malt beer. Kukko Lager, which is more heavily hopped than basic lagers, uses no starch in the brewing process, but the beer's flavour of grain comes from barley grown in Finland's fertile fields. The scent of the beer is clean and has aromas of freshly cut grass. The beer has a full-bodied flavour.

Can. Clear, pale golden body with a small white head. Hay, grain and some hops in both aroma and flavor. Thin-bodied beer with short and vague finish. Fairly decent. (070302)

(Can 50 cl) Clear, pilsener golden with a decent, white head. Lightly sour aroma of brewing cereal. Medium-bodied, notes of pilsener malt, butter and brewing cereal. No bitterness. 211006

A light yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet metallic, but also with light notes of malt and grain. The flavor is malty and watery with a boring lightly bitter end.

Canned, thanks oh6gdx! Clear golden. Sweet and lightly papery. Some pleasant buttery malt character, but nothing in the way of hops. Better than the macros, but not very interesting.

Canned. Yellowish golden colour, mediumsized creamy white head, which disappears quickly. Aroma kind of sweet malts, hops and some vinegar?!?. Flavour is softly malty at first, then hops grow in finish along with some weak hints of yeast. Something between sticky and dry palate. Finish is caramellish, "biting" hoppy and a bit grassy too. Quite a good "project" from Laitilan. "Project" since by the time of rating, it only seems to be sold in the city of Rauma.

Can (BB 07/2006)
pale golden color, small white head. A bit strange yeast and malt aromas. Yeasty malty flavor too. You can taste Laitila’s yeast easily here. This is a bit like Saimaan Panimo’s lager, same kind of craft beer feeling here. (4/2/5/3/9 2.3)
Re-rate, can
Much more hoppier than I could taste in the first time (after long session and drinking hoppy pils before this). (4/2/7/3/11 2.7)
