Bottle 375ml. @ home.Clear medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, grain, paper notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081216]

11.7 oz bottle-pours a white head and gold color. Aroma is musty/sweet medium malt-caramel, some continental hops. Taste is musty/sweet-corn/medium malt-caramel, some continental hops, but also vegetal which dominates. Thanks jwc215 for picking this out.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with a large white head. The aroma was sour, tangy, dry and a touch spicy. The flavor was tangy, dry and only lightly malty with a cardboard undertone. The finish was dry cardboard. Unimpressive.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear yellow with a semi fizzy white head. Light grainy and grassy aroma. Mild sweet at first, yet also with a mild detergent grassy note, somewhat unpleasant. This slowly smoothens out towards the finish with is mild bitter and light caramel flavoured.

Bottle. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Yellow colour. Light malty ans very light hoppy aroma. Light sweet and malty flavor. light bitter short finish. Watery palate. Not good and not bad.

375 mL bottle from Wine Warehouse best by 12/12/08. Clear light orange color with a fast disappearing small off-white head. Slightly musty grassy aroma. Taste is the same must, some sweaty socks and a hop bite towards the end. Slightly metallic twinge and an apple-juice like fruitiness in the finish. High effervescence. Bad stuff.

Not completely sure why I picked this one up; here goes anyway. Aroma is slightly skunky but I’ve encountered worse. Corn, malts, and a little sweetness. Clear golden with a pillowy head. Wow, it’s not horrible. Some sweet malts, adjuncts, and a touch of hops are evident in this one. Body is fairly smooth. While it’s certanly not the worst beer I’ve ever had I can’t think of a reason to drink this one again.

Toohey’s new? Well if a 7+ year old beer is new? A little musty on the lid pop, then it clears to a sweet american malt liquor aroma. Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager color and a appearance. On the palate, it provides a good above average tingly carbonation. The taste is an interesting leathery lager taste, yet slightly repulsive in it’s own way. Overall a little more coarse than I expected for a simple pale lager. Has more alky personality than a typical 4.6% lager.
