This Imperial IPA has an assertive aroma of sticky, resinous Summit hops. A complex flavor profile includes notes of grapefruit, lemon peel, and spruce. Though the flavor focus is on hops, a trio of malts provides a balance to the beer, creating a delicious level of palatability. Hints of caramel, toffee and freshly-baked biscuits are also apparent in the flavor profile.

A nice malt and hop nose but a pretty thin taste profile. There is some hop bitterness, booziness and caramel malt with a touch of strawberry. Middle of the pack.

Typical citrus, pine, resin aroma, but there seems to be a big dose of floral honey, and some big cereal malts. Thick mouthfeel, low carb. Viscous finish, very very bitter. Loads of pine, and soapy pine in the finish with the big malts rounding it allout.

12 oz. bottle, sent from wilco (thanks Mike), pours a hazy golden with a large white head. Nose brings out hop resins, pine and a light caramely bready malt. Flavour is more or less the same, with resinous and piney hops, hop oils and lightly caramelized bready malt. Well-balanced and chewy. A really nice, drinkable IIPA.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 2/28/13, as Arcadia Hop Rocket Imperial India Pale Ale

Aroma: The aroma is an odd mix of pine and grapefruit hops with some musky cologne
Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange color with a small, bubbly white head and medium lace
Flavor: Tastes muddled, there's a nice hop bitterness, but the it becomes off toward the end palate
Palate: The body is medium, with average carbonation, and a fairly dry finish on the mouth
Overall Impression: It has a solid hop feel, but there's just something off about this one, and it comes from what I can best describe as a musky cologne. That's not a perfect description, but it's the closest thing I can think of. It really is just weird, musky and earthy component that makes the whole beer feel a little muddled and off. Everything else was solid, but that part was hard to get past.

Draft. Apricot color. Complex taste: wood, malt, hint of citrus. Medium body from start to finish. Seemed boozier than 9%.

12 ounce bottle into tulip, bottled 11/15/2011. Pours very hazy golden orange color with a nice 1-2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention that reduces to a thin cap that lasts. Some spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange, pine, herbal, floral, pineapple, caramel, biscuit, and a touch of alcohol. Some pretty nice aromas with good balance. Taste of big pine, grapefruit, orange, herbal spiciness, honey, biscuit, caramel, and pineapple. Good amount of bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pine, herbal, caramel, honey, and biscuit on the finish for a bit. Nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a fairly creamy and slightly slick mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming after the finish. Smooth to drink at 9%, but is still a bit of a sipper. Overall this is a very nice DIPA. Nice hoppy flavors; with good balance and smoothness.
