Okay foamy head and gold body. Kind of an odd nut and hop aroma that when put together is really off-putting. Like someone just farted in the bathroom. Flavour is balanced between malt and sharp hoppiness, some hazelnut and crunchy chocolate cookie in there. In terms of IPAs it doesn’t go the distance.

Poured into a taster showing tea brown and a light webbing of foam on top. The nose shows a very sweet biscuit maltiness. The palate is lightly carbonated and light bodied. Very malty but only slightly sweet biscuit flavor. A nice lager-like malty bitterness at the finish. Surprisingly, an IPA made in the traditional style, this isn’t bad. I wouldn’t buy another bottle, but it’s done competently. Probably would have been better on cask.

From a 500ml bottle on 6/4/2015. Label says ’India’ not ’Indian’. Pours a clear deep golden with an uneven medium head. The aroma is a touch odd, with metallic elements followed by some caramel malt. Taste wise, it’s quite malt forward (caramel again, with some toffee), with just a touch of fruit sweetness. The bitterness is pretty firm and quite blunt. Just doesn’t really come together for me, and disappointing for the style.

Keg at the CP&K, Pimlicoco, 06/03/15. Golden orange with a moderate off white covering. Nose is thin, hints of pond water, light hop, orange juice, straw. Taste improves a little, caramel malt, hop notes, light tropical fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. So so offering, drinkable I guess but lacks any depth to the flavour and way down the pecking order in the IPA world. Not really an IPA @ just 5% and going by the (lack of) flavour profile, presumably added as such just because the brewery called it an IPA!
