On tap at Hardrock 42 in Sudbury. Black pour, big mocha head. Great roasted malt aromas, touches of cocoa, and coffee, with some very slight, but present resinous hops. The mouth feel is perfect along with the carb. The finish is green, with a great subtle, yet solid dose of piney, resinous hops. These hops balance incredibly well with the solid roasted malt flavors. At 3.7% this is a great session porter, excellent!

(On tap at Bryden’s, Jan 11 2013) Pours black with a decent head of dense pale tan froth, faded fairly slowly leaving a carpet of lace. Aroma roast malt-forward, somewhat sweet, light cocoa and coffee accents, a little fruity hop on the nose too. Flavour again has roasted malts to the fore, the roast not super-high though leaving some real nice malt sweetness and heft. Milk chocolate and light coffee too, some raisin-like fruitiness that could be combined malt/hops. Finish has light roast and a little hops, lightly bitter and a touch ’green’, lingering malt. Body fairly light but impressive for ABV, carb fairly soft. I was really impressed by substance and depth of flavour for the ABV, and it’s extremely drinkable. Great job.
