On tap at bar hop. Another amsterdam triumph! Peaches, pears, earthy hops, citrus zest, and woody grasses. Citrus pithy bitterness, fresh stone fruit finish, with some acidic white wine qualities. Nice stuff.

(Draught at Bryden’s, Toronto ON, June 18th 2013) Pours a hazy medium gold with a think white bubbly head, no lace. Aroma has a sour bretty character up front, a vinous/tree fruit acidity and a fair bit of oaky barrel/vanilla character, just a little pale malt behind. Flavour isn’t as sharply sour as the first smell might suggest. There is a bit of acidity at the start along with a little bit of brett funk and fairly dry pale malt along with a fair bit of carb. By mid-palate the barrel starts to take over, with the acid core of a dry lighter fruity white wine. An oaked one, as the buttery wood comes in at the end and the beer finishes dry with just a little barnyard funk lingering. Alcohol heat is evident from the middle of the sip on. This is quite a white wine-like beer really, restrained in both sourness and funk. It’s good, but I think it could be a bit more complex and finish more strongly.
