Hypnopompa is our imperial stout brewed with almost 100 kilos of marshmallows and Tahitian vanilla beans (the size of cigars).
Low carbonation and boiled a bit extra for good measure, this is a beer strictly for the stout inclined.
Drink now or age for many years.
Bourbon barrel aged edition comes with a gold cap.
Cognac (Grönstedts) barrel aged edition comes with a green sticker.

Bottle. Dark brown color, tan foam. Aroma: spicy, herbs, caramel, chocolate, nuts, brandy, vanilla. Taste: brandy, chocolate, caramel, nuts, vanilla, cocoa, very warming.

Bottle at home, 29th July 17. Pours black, a nice neat little head. Aroma is heady, coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt. Taste is rich, coffee, roasty, bitter, maybe some vanilla, not sweet, certainly not what I expected, re the marshmallows, more dry, bitter and classical. Fantastic stuff.

Roasted malts surprisingly dominate, so the dominant note in the nose and in taste is the roasted coffee, there is also a very high bitterness which tastes like it came from the roastyness of malts and not from hops. The mouthfeel is very creamy, there are some notes of vanilla in the nose and some taste of added flavours (not neccesarily straightforward marshmallow). If You are looking not only for a thick but also sweet imperial stout, something like Evil Twin’s imperil biscotti break, or even a different version of omnipollo’s own Noa Pecan Mudcake you will be very dissapointed. This is a beer for people who like their imperial stouts very bitter and roasted. Flavours and sweet taste play definietely a secondary or tertiary role in this beer. So it’s still a very interesting experience, but I do not feel any marshmallows but lots of burnt malts... A kind of disappointment.

Aus der Flasche 2017-05 getrunken und 2016-10 gekauft. Ich hatte es 2016-11 schon mal im Glas und fand es recht dicht am de Molen - Hel & Verdoemenis. Doch nun 2017-05 nachdemn das Bier etwas gelagert wirkt es deutlich harmonischer. Die 100kg Marshmallows und die Tahitischen Vanilie mit denen dieses Bier gebraut wurden sind nicht wirklich spürbar und bilden aber ein sehr harmonisches Imperial Stout mit fast eine Art Barley Wine Charakter als ob man flüssiges, dunkles Brot trinkt. Das Lagern des Bieres hat sich hier echt gelohnt. Super Lecker!

Tap.Black colour with medium head.Aroma of coffee and vanilla nice sweet and roasted mouthfeels and good long taste of chocolate and coffee,full body and light sweet finish.

Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2017. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Sweet, roasted aroma with caramel, chocolate, coffee, licorice, vanilla and the distinct artificial sweetness from the marshmallows. Taste is sweet. Full bodied. Finishes lasting sweet with rich dark malts and coffee. More marshmallows. Big, fat and vulgar - I like this!

Aroma: Dark roasted malt with sweet toffee notes and chocolate. Flavour: Roasted malt with brown sugar and ripe fruits. Aftertaste is dark riasted malt and sugary sweetness. Deep, dark, inky black body of indeterminable clarity topped by a head of actual marshmallows that are then blow-torched....Pretty god damned over-the-top and hilarious.
Nose, then, is filled with marshmallow though rich, rich chocolatey fudge and cocoa notes pour forth, as well. Vanilla, moderate roast and some alcohol make their way in.
In the mouth it’s massively sweet, sugary, chewy, rich, fudgey and the balance seems to be attempted with alcohol and bitter roast character, which doesn’t work out too well. Low carbonation, thick, syrupy. Just way, way, way too sweet. Obviously meant to be a massive, over-the-top Imperial Stout, but regardless, it’s difficult to drink much of it, for me.
