1996. Dark amber with a lasting off-white head. Strong oxidized, dried fruit aroma. mixed with caramel an licorice notes. Sweet caramel flavour with licorice, smooth and soft mouthfeel. This bottle was too oxidized, but had all the signs of an excellent brew.

33cl bottle @ DHVL. 1996 Vintage. Dark brown with a creamy bubbly foam and lacings. Nose is aged, dust, cellar, caramel, tart, bread. Smooth, oxidized, mouldy and bready. Flavor gets better and better and went well with my "lasagne 4 cheeses" meal. Strong sherry and liquorice notes comes up. Lovely.

Bottle 33cl. [ Vintage 1996 ].Clear dark red brown color with a average to large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, vitage brown sugar, prune notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, and a peppery finish. Body is medium to light, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081212]

Cannot definitely age this but its definitely at least 2002, but I would guess more like 2000. Stamped L284. It pours a murky brown with a small head. Aroma is lively with light raisin, with sweet black bread, and light lemon-y wild characteristic. It seems aged but not in the "old" or "cardboard" way but the light lemon-like aspect. Taste is lightly water-y from the age, then there is a light black bread sweetness and light chocolate plum candy. A lighter side of medium body with a lightly below average carbonation. Aged nicely enough but I would not wait any longer.
750mL cork and cap, Corsendonk tulip glass.

(Bottle 33 cl) My version has 8% ABV. Very dark beer with a medium, beige head. Full-bodied but surprisingly dry - almost stout-like in character. Lots of complexity in the malty aroma - I sense some chocolate-notes. 210695
