The secret behind Zeunerts Original is that it is first fermented in open tubs and then brewed in a copper pan. This makes Zeunerts Original a genuine Craft Beer. Together with high-quality malt and water from the Swedish North, this gives Zeunerts Original a distinct Pilsner character. After the boil, another type of hop is added to ensure the beer is well malted but not overly bitter. Thanks to a lower wort strength, Zeunerts Original is often considered a little easier to drink than other beers in the same category.

Biggish white head. Yellow body. Grassy malty floral aroma. Dry-sweetish grassy floral taste with malty papery notes. Some acidity, too. Unclean palate. Kind of bland. Slick mouthfeel. Faint dryish papery aftertaste with grassy notes. Kind of decent. (0.5l can, Systembolaget, Charlottenberg.)

(Bottled; Hamrestugan, Duved, Sweden; 19 Mar) Colour is golden yellow with a firm white head. Nose is flowery and grassy with a hoppy character, some citrus as well. Taste is malty, rather sweet to start, with a drier, rather bitter finish. Not at all bad, better than expected, but sitting in the sun after a day of downhill skiing in the Swedish mountains, anything would probably be nice. Must remember to try it under less favourable circumstances.

(Can 50 cl) Pours a pilsener golden with a creamy, white head that leaves some laces. Soft, malty body with a richness of malty sweetness. Light, hoppy finish, but the overall impression is a sweet and pleasant lager. 280206
