500ml can from Systembolaget, Linköping. Beige, one-finger head over a deep mahogany body. Supported by the nice laceworks it was a very pretty spectacle. Hints of dark malt in aroma followed by a more sweet, roasted malty flavour. Diluted and rather lively carbonated - but the appearance was great (25.01.2008).

Bottled (BB 07/2007)
Ruby red color, cloudy off-white head, lace. Metallic papery aroma. Malty, slightly toasted and also harsh flavor. Dry mouthfeel, not very typical Christmas beer, more like a bit maltier basic lager.

Bottled. Dark amberish brown colour, mediumsized fluffy head. Aroma is dark fruits, malts, and slight burnt sugar. Flavour is metallic, dark fruits and malts. Could do with food, but "as is" it’s not something you can enjoy separately.

(50 cl bottle from Swedish Systembolaget) Weak malty, some old scent. Clear brown color, small tan head. Grainy smell. Sour malty taste, a bit buttery. Thin mouthfeel, high co2. Metallic. Boring and pointless. Shame on you Åbro!

A dark amber beer with a huge light orange head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also faint notes of hops. The flavor is sweet malty - again with primary notes of caramel as well as light notes of hops, leading to a slightly bitter end. The body is thin.

Bottled. Dark brown, average head. Roasty and fruity with soapy mouthfeel. Very sweet and too light bodied. Note of plums and raisin. Traditional style Julöl, but not very succesful.

(Bottle 33 cl) Amber golden with a tall, frothy head. Malty but not very full-bodied, actually this is a bit watery with a weak underlying sweetness and a ditto bitterness. Not bad - just not very exciting. 140402

Ruby-amber color; thick creamy head. Some aroma of malt and sugars, light bran. Dryer than other Swedish Christmas, just some light malt, caramel and hop to present. The palate is anyway quite long.

Amber coloured. It's hard to find any aroma worth mentioning. Somewhat sweet toffe-flavour. Some bitterness in the finish. Drinkable but nothing special.
