The Grande Rivière is an amber beer made with roasted barley malt. Its notes of caramel and pain d’épices give it a pleasant feeling of roundness and freshness.

33cl bottle from E.Leclerc CHAMPAGNOLE supermarket in France. Head is medium, tan, quick diminishing. Colour is dark coppery to brown, almost clear. Aroma roasted malts, caramel, bready, herbal touch. Taste is medium malty base, caramel, some roasted tones, bit leaves, almost dry on the palate, decent bitterness, simple yet ok.

Tap at Chalet du Lac, Les Rousses in september 2013. Clear amber colour, rocky head. Aroma caramel, bread, roasty. Bittersweet flavor, light body, slick texture, average carbonation, clean bittersweet finish. Not bad.

clear brown, not that large white to offwhite hed with both large and smaller bubbles. nutty, caramelly, malty aroma, also slight bitterhoppy balance and very faint flowers. flavor is flowery, malty, faint nutty, flavor is so mild that booze can be tasted as a bitter ingredience, I think abv should’ve been lower for this beer to work.

Bottle, 6.0%. Slightly buttery aroma, a bit rough. Clear grey golden colour. The flavour has some light malts but also some roughness, from malt or hops I do not know.
