Dark opaque brown color, small steady brown head. Berries, some malt vinegar in the nose. Medium-bodied. A bit tart, berryish (cranberries), some sweet notes, vinegar, coffee, caramel. Strange brew like Bogedals often are, but this is tasty.

Bottled. An unclear brown beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dusty hops, and fruit. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of caramel as well as lighter notes of roasted malt, stored fruits, and alcohol.

this one was particularily challenging, i’m not sure what went wrong, but i clearly didn’t like it like others have done. marked for a rerate when i get around to finding it again. dark brown , no head. aroma is mouldy, roasted grains. the mouldy note ruins it for me. flavor is stromg moudly, roasted grains. probbaly good stuff beneath the mouldy flavor, but i got real distracted by it. could be the bottle perhaps.

Bottle, 75cl corked, at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. Unclear, brown beer topped by a small, beige head. Fruityness, some roasted malt and a lovely hoppyness in the aroma. Lovely flavor, not very complex, but a delicious blend of roasted malts and piney bitterness. Good sweetness too. Full-bodied, sweetish and with a pleasant level of carbonation. Roasted, bitter finish. Yet another good one from Bøgedal. (080913)
