Care for some hops with your hops? Before we ferment our 5 Barrel Pale Ale, we strain it through a bed of 'em. Then while it ages, we add even more. We like how this gives the beer a fresh, lively finish. We like hops.
As we go about refining the recipe for each new beer, we brew up just five barrels at a time. That's exactly how we arrived at this pale ale -- so that's what we named it. Plus, it sounded a lot nicer than Giant Vat Pale Ale.

Bottle from Uto beer. Pours hazy amber with a shortlasing head. Back in the day when I was a hop head IΒ΄d probably been rather impressed by this. Unfortunately the bottle was a few months past itβs bb-date so Im not sure where they intended to go with it.

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Poured a clear bronze colour with a thinnish white head. Sweetish nose with some fragrant hop, fruit and candy notes. Lightish body. Sweet malt and citrus hop in the flavour. Dryish bitter finish. Quite drinkable and not without some appealing characteristics.

Bottle from Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours hazy light amber with a foamy off-white head. Strong hoppy aroma. Medium body; firm carbonation. Flavor is moderate caramel and strong hop. Seems like quite a melange of hop. Finishes a little florally bitter.

Sample from a bottle at Jonesyβs Eatbar in Denver. The beer is a pale amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily Stringy lacing on the glass. Floral hops aroma with citrusy undertones. Medium body with herbal and floral hops flavors, as well as some citrus and malt. The finish is hoppy up front with a citrusy aftertaste. Decent all around.
