(Tap) clear, bright golden colour with a small white head; aroma starts with dough, then jam, hint of roast; clean flavour with a long, light bitter finish. Lively representation of this generally boring variety.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 1/8/2016. Pours slightly hazy deep golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, light fruitiness, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with well balanced pale malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, cracker, toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, light fruitiness, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of earthy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, cracker, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Good amount of dryness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 5.1%. Overall this is a very good English pale ale style. All around good robustness and balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and light fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Pours an straw from a bottle, grassy notes, seemed more like a lightly hopped pilsener taste-wise. Okay beer.

Clear medium amber colour, small frothy off-white head, lasts for a while, fair lacing. Malt aroma, toasted bread, barley, caramel, bit buttery. Mild taste, light to medium sweet and light bitter, caramel. Light to medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, smooth aftertaste, slightly more bitter, malty, nutty notes, pleasant.

Bottle @ home. Clear orange golden color, medium sized white head that lasts for a decent while and leaves fair lacing. Smell and taste malts, some bitter, slightly hops. Not very outspoken, no flaws, pretty straightforward. Average body and carbonation.

355mL Bottle from drankgigant.nl. Clear amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of a typical English ale, fruity, melon, caramel, hint of toast. Flavour is sweet at the onset, caramel/toffee, malts, fruity, mid is more bitter, nutty, toast, light floral, light hoppy bitter finish. Light bodied. OK stuff. More a Bitter than Golden Ale to me, very English in character.
