Bottle. Dark golden colour with an off-white head. Hop and caramel aroma. Flavour is malt and hops with a hint of sweet caramel. Sweet bitter finish.

Huge beige coarse-laced head over chestnut brown body. Aroma is a weak jumble of sweet malts and (citrusy?) hops. Deep sweet taste of roasty marzipan with a bitter hoppy aftertaste with notes of peas and resin (ie: EKG). Smoky notes. Slightly watery. Not that much taste, but definitely a decent beer.

First ratingBottle.Rating added 2/4/2006Not very characteristic, feels tame to be from Jämtlands. I might have had it a bit too cold, because the taste got bigger to the end.Reminds me a bit of Spitfire, Bishops Finger and Kilkenny, all three of which have these little something that I don’t like.4/3/4/3/8=2.2Rerate(50 cl bottle from Systembolaget)updated 10/30/2008Dark brownish to copper color, off-white head. Light fruity scent. Buttery and hoppy taste. Medium mothfeel, medium low bitterness.6/4/6/3/12=3.1

Bottle. Chestnut colour, small head. The flavour is nicely smoky, but without being rough. Also quite malty and with a hint of aromatic hoppiness. Good mouthfeel.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pretty, dark amber-coloured beer with a small but quite dense head. Unpasteurized ale and very English in style. Quite full and not really that bitter - actually the sweet notes are more pronounced. Slightly roasted caramel. Apparantly brewed with some oats. 260503

Bottled. Clear copper brown, small white head. Aroma consists of hops and roast, with notes of citrus. Very wellbalanced taste of malt and roast. Bitterness in the taste is a bit delayed. Best bitter I’ve had so far.

Bottled (BB 04/2005)
Clear copper brown color, with medium-sized off-white head, lace. Aroma of English hops and notes of roast and caramel. Interesting mouthfeel: medium-bodied with toffee and slightly roasted malt tones. Very good late bitterness in the aftertaste. Very British and very well-balanced, similar to some Fuller’s brews.

Darker amber with a greenish shine; small, yellowish dense head. Hops (British), liquorice and a spice - juniper?, some bready notes as well and brown candi sugar. Again rather sweetish liqourice-like taste, alleviated with spicey and hoppy notes. I seem to think of juniper again, and laurel - as herbs for venison stew. Is there a (serious) tad of diacetyl? Unbelievably well-bodied for a " bitter" - Swedish style, yes. And the diacetyl, of course. Very good beer. But even "E.S." Bitter is not this - I’ve had old ales that couldn’t stand up to this.

An amber beer with a beutiful lasting head. The aroma is slightly sweet with notes of oranges and hops. The flavor is a flat bitter one with a slight metallic note. It ends with a lot of bitterness from a great hop. Really good for a bitter.

Beautiful dark amber color; creamy head. Delicate malt aroma; light roasted malt. Good malty body, strong but pretty dry. A bold bitterness, not really hop-aromatic. Drinkable, but among the Biblic ones I still prefer the Jämtlands Hell.
