Black with a large foamy brown head that left excellent lacing. Bitter and roasty with anise, wood and Windex notes. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Sample at the taproom. The beer pours black with a medium thin foamy tan head that diminishes steadily to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Charred malt, chocolate and licorice in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, anise, coffee and earthy hops. The finish is roasty with a burnt malt and coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
