All the easy drinking virtues of a light ale. Brewed with Worcestershire Challenger, Fuggle and Golding hops to give a vivid hop aroma and a subtle bitterness. Perfect with a light lunch - a ploughman's or a sandwich.

500 ml Brown bottle, best before Oct 11. Finally got round to opening this bottle conditioned bitter when on holiday down on the Suffolk coast (July 2011). It had sat for 5 hours in the caravan fridge (after a long car journey) but the beer still gushed out of the bottle, bringing bits of sediment with it, very lively indeed. The body was a light amber clour, slightly cloudy because of the excitment of the beer to hit my glass. A huge off-white head sat on top of the brew and loads of bubbles could be seen rising through the body (no sediment on view, but it did give the beer a haze). Small hop aroma, with a touch of malt, otherwise no smell. The beer was a gentle blend of hops and malts, nothing outstanding, but agreeable enough. A little thin in body strenght, but it is only 3.7% ABV, so thatโs allowed. Overall, just an average English Bitter.

500ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a thin head. Aroma is soapy and earthy, a little citrus. Taste is bready, bit of lemon. Earthy finish. Full in the mouth for the strength, but a lack of carbonation.

Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour, mediumsized white foamy/bubbly head. Aroma is fruity, wooden and not much else. Flavour is the same along with some smoke and riped dark fruits. Quite watery.

Cask. A hazy pale amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet and rather citrusy on a light malty back ground. The flavor is sweet with powerful citrusy hoppy notes on a light malty back ground, leading to a rather bitter finish.
Bottled. An orange beer with a thin disappearing white head. The aroma is sweet combined with an acidic note, as well as some fruity notes. The flavor is acidic fruity, with a thin body. An extremely boring bottled conditioned beer. [3/3/3/1/5]
