Mono is an evolution of the ’single hop’ phenomenon. While Galaxy is the stated hop on the label, the true concept here is to display the headliner in it’s greatest form possible, and if you ask me every hop is better when paired or supported by others. So we added some accents of Centennial & Sterling to widen the frequency and crank up the volume of bright tangerine, grapefruit, and fresh grass.

12 oz bottle poured. I keep going back to these Stillwater beers because of the quality beer at a pocket change price. Not to mention, they seem to take a style I don’t enjoy as much, and make it very much worth my time. Pours a thick snow globe pale yellow with a patchy head. Great hop character leaving behind plenty of grapefeuit and lemon. Cool flavor, hoppy aroma. Slammable. Tasty beer. I’m no premium lager expert, but this is probably the best one I’ve ever had. If I drink a beer way faster than I can rate it, I either rambled to much or the beer was good. I’ll guess the latter on that one.

Draught at Row 34, 8/7/15.
Lemon-lime tinted golden body shows high clarity and is topped by a white head that is small but shows good retention.
Big hoppiness in the nose is floral, spicy and full of lemon and lime zest. Some white bread, black pepper and light honey enter in to the mix and seem to mesh very well with the hop profile. There’s a bit of grapefruit rind and light resin, especially as you get towards the end, but it’s not obnoxious. Somewhat of a white grape and mineral character, as well. No alcohol or flaws in the nose.
Peppery hop notes combine with a starfruit-meets-chardonnay character while the light honeyed malts provide good, soft texture and balance. Citrus and heavy acidity continue to grow until, by the end of the pint, I’m a bit less enthused than I was at first. Just a bit too much hop acids for my liking, but it’s borderline and my tolerance for them is very low. Otherwise, clean, crisp, dry and wonderful, I’m greatly excited to continue my contemporary works journey. Bit of dirtiness/soil-like flavor noted on the aftertaste. Last time I tasted that was in one of my homebrews. Something hop-derived, no doubt.

Bottle. Hazy, deep yellow body with a frothy, white head. Aroma of grass, grapefruit, citrus, toasted grain, pine, grapefruit, grass. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. A hop-forward lager. Pine along with citrus, orange, grass and grapefruit in the flavor. Slight syrupy mouthfeel gets in the way of crispness, but that’s not a big complaint. It’s a complex, tasty beer. And different.

12oz bottle. One of the best Stillwater beers I’ve had, this is really well done. Hazy peach-tan. Foamy, frothy off-white head. The hops are big but mellow, juicy. Delicious balance. Awesome tangerine, pink grapefruit tones. Medium bodied, incredibly drinkable. This is phenomenal.
